About us – the people

Sheepgate Tack & Togs prides itself on its quality of service and this can only be achieved with employing the right people. Knowledge of the products on sale and also just as importantly their use is key and Sheepgate Tack & Togs pride themselves on the knowledgeable team that they have in place.  Please meet the team behind Sheepgate Tack & Togs:

Kate Hardwick   Kate Hardwick (Nee Grant)
Kate is the Manager of Sheepgate Tack & Togs and has been involved since its inception. Part of the Grant family, she has been a rider for most of her life and still today keeps her horse at the family owned  Sheepgate Equestrian. Kate once represented GB in a friendly international in Bavaria riding her sister Sarah’s Cranswick Amadou.  She is BHS Stage 3 qualified.  Being a rider herself ensures that Kate has the background knowledge which allows her to assist clients with their enquiries and queries, enabling her to offer the best product for the job. Dealing with reps and attending trade shows ensures that Kate has the most up to date knowledge of developing products and also what is on the horizon for the coming season’s fashion.

Fay Grant   Fay Grant
Fay spent more than 30 years as part of the Grant family businesses on this large site at Leverton near Boston, and originally opened and ran the ‘Sheepgate Savoy’ cafe that is part of the Sheepgate Equestrian building.  When the shop was first setting up she and husband Bruce would complete their ‘day job’ and then spend their evenings putting stock into the shop.  Fay spent her mornings in the shop, offering clients her wealth of experience both as an ‘equestrian mum’ with years of competitions behind her and fashion conscious lady with an eye for a classy look.

Sarah Payne   Sarah Payne (Nee Grant)
A list 2a dressage judge and rider, BHS Instructor, qualified Pilates and Equipilates instructor and Equine Body Worker, Sarah is the Manager of Sheepgate Equestrian.  However her many talents don’t just lie there! Sarah works behind the scenes of Sheepgate Tack & Togs in support of Kate in driving the business forward.  Riding, competing and teaching means that Sarah has a thorough understanding of the type of products that every rider needs for themselves and their horses and her input into the buying and stocking of the shop is invaluable.

Alex Jewell
  Alex Jewell
Alex joined the Sheepgate Tack & Togs team several years ago and now divides her time between the shop website and the administration of Sheepgate Equestrian where she works closely with Sarah Payne, the manager.  A dressage competitor and former show jumper Alex also used to run a riding school and has a vast all round knowledge of all things equestrian.  She is a friendly and experienced member of the team.
